Teaching

Gemma has been an instrumental tutor at the University of Manchester since 2016 and has worked with a large array of wonderful young musicians, some of whom have successfully gained postgraduate places at UK conservatoires. Others have gone off to do many exciting and creative things, using their music either directly or as a hugely valuable transferable skill.

She believes in working with individuals and aims to be flexible in her approach. She tries to encourage all her students to focus on communication, curiosity and expression in their playing. Technique is developed to support a focussed and connected music-making which is individual to each player.
